ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Susan—a self-professed grammar nerd. Ever since my teens when my English-teacher aunt allowed me to grade her students’ essays, I’ve been hooked on editing. A voracious reading habit led me to major in English at Baylor University, where I also served as a copywriter and editor at the university newspaper.

After college, I worked for two advertising agencies where I honed my editing skills while producing marketing materials for a telecommunications firm, a major mobile phone manufacturer, and one of the country’s largest heating and air conditioning manufacturers. A few years later my two awesome children caused me to step back from the corporate world in favor of homeschooling, where I happily
went back to the basics of grammar. I love diagramming sentences!

Now I’m helping authors by asking questions, delving into the details, and making it my business to know the hyphenation rules set forth by the mighty Chicago Manual of Style. If you’re looking for someone who will commit to you and your project with loving ferocity, let’s talk!

"When I decided to self-publish my first book, Susan was recommended to me. I couldn’t be happier with her work! Not only was she incredibly thorough, her advice was always kind and constructive. I felt quite unsure with the original draft of my book. I knew it needed some work. Her advice and editing skills helped me tremendously. I now feel much more confident in the quality of my book. She has made my first book writing experience much smoother than I could have imagined!”
